The mayor’s office has announced details for Wednesday’s parade honoring the Jackie Robinson West 2014 U.S. Championship team.
Festivities will kick off with a 9 a.m. rally at Jackie Robinson Park at 105th and Morgan Street. The parade will get underway at 10 a.m. It will head north on Halsted, turn east on 35th Street to Indiana, then turn back north to Michigan Avenue before reaching Millennium Park for an 11 a.m. rally.
Several points along the route will allow fans to gather and support the team:
- 103rd and Halsted
- 95th and Halsted
- 87th and Halsted
- 79th and Halsted
- 63rd and Halsted
- US Cellular Field
“The players and coaches of the Jackie Robinson West All Stars are the pride of Chicago,” Mayor Emanuel said in announcing the parade details. “They have electrified our city and rallied people from every neighborhood to come together and support these great kids. They have brought out the true spirit of Chicago and I am proud to honor our U.S. Champions with a well-earned Chicago celebration.”
Navy Pier’s 9:30 p.m. fireworks display will also honor the team.
